On this episode, it’s a LTR.
The rules of fair play do not apply in love and war and cleansers. Some make for a fun fling. If they’re lucky, some might even make it into the rotation. Truth be told, I’ve been known to keep multiple cleansers on roster at any given time, and before one has even had the chance to impress me, I’ve probably already made up my mind. Call me a non-loyalist, but if there’s one thing that dating in New York City has taught me, it’s that cleansers— especially cleansing oils— come and go. In the end, they all lack that special thing.
Then Tata Harper’s Nourishing Oil Cleanser came along and I knew it was different. Makeup removal with Nourishing proved that it’s not like the others: it’s simply too good to remove makeup with (though it can).
No, instead, its luxury demands better treatment than a made up face. Dates with Nourishing are special, meant to be wine and dined, best reserved for first-cleansed skin, where we can really get to know one another.
How do I count the ways, you ask? Its bottle: tall, green, and handsome. Its scent: charming (herbal, an experience of its own). Its non-runny texture: the standard (we’ve been known to massage). Nourishing will gently caress you awake and kiss you ‘good morning’, while gently lifting away post-bedtime flakiness, and seeing you off on your best skin day yet. Sometimes, I leave Nourishing on to bask in its treatment formula, proving that cleansers can do more than just cleanse.
I’m a fickle lover when it comes to skincare, and while I might stray, Nourishing is always there to welcome me back, a dependably good time every use. It doesn’t have to try, it just does, making all others dim before it. Cleansing, softening, balancing, hydrating: no other cleansing oil has it all like Nourishing Oil Cleanser.
Every once in a while, when friends and clients ask this capricious cosmetic-fan why I’m all aglow, I blush... and then I point to the little green bottle that changed the game. Nourishing might just be my most loved cleanser in recent memory.
